How to choose a descaler
After cleaning, change the aerator if the holes stay blocked. Not a water softener.
How to choose
The material first, then the bottle. Compatible chrome and plastic take vinegar or diluted citric acid, a wait, then a rinse. Marble, natural stone, aluminium and damaged enamel do not: read the maker’s instructions. The steps are on limescale on the shower and the taps.
Do not mix a descaler with bleach. Do not leave acid on the worktop. A squeegee after the shower takes water off the glass: it is not a water softener, and it is not on this list as if it were.
Do not buy a spray if the jet is weak and the chrome is clean: that is the aerator, and it is measured, not dissolved by force. Do not buy several if the crust is on the cylinder and through the home: that is a technician, not a bigger bottle.
Soak the handset if it undoes by hand. If it will not undo, do not force it so the product can get in. A new aerator, on this list, is bought only after you have read M22, M24 or M28.
Minimal DIY
Household moves, not a building site. A stick and a deodoriser do not fill a dry trap and do not repair the sewer.
