How to choose for a drain smell
More category examples after water in the trap. A stick and a deodoriser do not fill a dry trap.
How to choose
Before you open a card, tell a dry trap from a blocked pipe. Pour water into the fitting that smells. If the smell drops, you do not need a gel: you needed the water seal. The steps are on bathroom wastes that smell.
If the kitchen sink smells and the water is slow, the grease is in the trap cup. That track is a kitchen sink that smells, not a stick in the WC pan.
Buy nothing if the smell is in several rooms, on the landing or in another flat: it is the stack, and a deodoriser will not close it. Sticks and discs cover a smell. They do not fill a dry trap and they do not clear a waste that has stopped.
Check which fitting smells, whether you rarely use it, and whether the water runs away. Without those three facts a product is a guess. WC discs stay in the WC: not the bidet, the basin or the shower.
Minimal DIY
Household moves, not a building site. A stick and a deodoriser do not fill a dry trap and do not repair the sewer.
