How to choose for a slow drain
Plunger, snake, trap, air. No caustic soda. Not for the stack.
How to choose
Buy a plunger only if one fixture is slow and water is not rising in the others. If the sink, the shower and the WC move together, it is the stack: a snake, an air gun and a new trap will not open it. The page is a drain that runs slowly.
Hair you can see on the shower grille is pulled by hand before any tool. That track is hair in the shower. A long snake is not the next step.
Measure, if you are changing the trap: a 32 or a 40 mm outlet, and whether it goes to the wall or the floor. With no measurement, do not order the part. An air gun only with an intact trap, one waste, no thin glass.
Do not buy a chemical to pour and then plunge: the splash leaves the sink. If the slow drain returns as soon as you have cleared it, stop. The catalogue does not replace a plumber.
