Without a hygrometer, “a damp house” is a feeling. With a cheap one you do not have a laboratory, but you have an order of magnitude and a log. It is the best cost-to-information purchase in the niche.

  • Place it about 1.2–1.5 m up, away from open windows, showers and radiators.
  • Do not trust the first fifteen minutes: cheap sensors settle.
  • Log morning and evening for a week, plus a laundry day and a day you are out.
